The Miami Heat could play one of the biggest games of the season without its two biggest stars.

The Heat are hosting Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers Thursday night at the American Airlines Arena.

Heat coach Erik Spoelstra confirmed Thursday morning that Dwyane Wade will not play because of his sore ankle. Spoelstra also reported that LeBron James was sent home from practice because he is still sick. James is a game-time decision.

The Heat will have the services of center Eddy Curry. This will be his first game all year.

The Heat are coming off a runaway win against the San Antonio Spurs during which James and Mike Miller lit it up from the 3-point line.

The Heat come into Thursday's game with a 9-4 record. The Lakers are 10-5.

First tip at the AAA is set for 8 p.m.
